On Tuesday, March 8th and Wednesday, March 9th, five Rowe Elementary School parents participated in a van trip to Springfield with the goal of meeting with state representatives and policy leaders. In a span of a mere 36 hours, Rowe parents met with multiple representatives to discuss Rowe’s mission, vision and success. In the spirit of advocating for our scholars and educating our state leaders, Rowe moms even secured a meeting with Governor Rauner to discuss our school, Northwestern Settlement and the multitude of accomplishments of various Settlement programs.
Despite a challenging political climate and millions of dollars in school funding cuts this year, Rowe parents will stop at nothing to advocate for their scholars and their school. They even had a behind-the-scenes tour of the Senate floor with Senator Mulroe. Go Rowe!
