K-5 Physical Education Teacher
Summary:
Rowe Elementary is looking for dedicated staff members to be a part of the 2018-
2019 school year. Applicants will be selected based on alignment to our mission and vision, relevant experience, and demonstration of potential to yield excellent educational outcomes for scholars.
Credentials:
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in education, Master’s degree preferred
- Hold a current Illinois PE Teacher Certification, Health certification preferred
- Minimum of 2-3 years teaching experience required; theater/arts background preferred
- CPR/AED/First Aid Certified (if not, willing to pursue certification by September 1st)
Position-Specific Qualifications:
- Contribute to an annual showcase highlighting the knowledge of scholars
- Willing to support scholars in reading and/or math instruction
- Be interested in working collaboratively with colleagues and reflecting on own practice to improve
instruction for all scholars, in particular the enrichment team, grade level team and deans - Reflect and improve on teaching using NASPE’s appropriate practices in instruction
- Promote wellness and physical activity before school, during school and after school
- Monitor, model and correct student participation and behavior during PE class
- Analyze fitness data for instructional planning and school-wide program evaluation
- Demonstrate knowledge of Anatomy, Physiology and Nutrition
- Have served a minimum of 2-3 years teaching experience required; physical education background
preferred
