General Education Associate Teacher Elementary


Rowe Elementary is looking for dedicated staff members to be a part of the 2018-
2019 school year. Applicants will be selected based on alignment to our mission and vision, relevant experience, and demonstration of potential to yield excellent educational outcomes for scholars.

Our ideal candidate will:

  • Demonstrate a belief in the mission and vision of the school
  • Show flexibility and a solutions-oriented approach necessary to be a part of a dynamic organization
  • Able to work collaboratively with colleagues, in particular department members (science) and co-teachers (2nd and 3rd grade reading)
  • Reflective on own practice to improve instruction for all scholars
  • Be a model of learning and improvement for scholars and colleagues
  • Experience working with a diverse scholar body
  • Willingness to be responsible for consistently managing scholar behavior within a positive behavior intervention support (PBIS) approach
  • Experience providing differentiated approach, both in small and whole group lessons
  • Experience with inquiry-based science curriculums (preferred) and small-group reading instruction
  • Experience developing and modifying long-term plans, units and assessments using realtime data
  • Strong organizational skills (material management, classroom procedures)
  • Willingness to collaborate across multiple grade levels (2nd through 5th grade)
  • Be dedicated to actively engage families in educational advocacy for their scholars
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills and dedication to meeting deadlines, honoring schedules and accurate record keeping
  • Holds a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in education, Master’s degree (preferred)
  • Have served a minimum of 2-3 years teaching experience required; elementary background preferred
  • Has a current Illinois Educator License
  • Indicate a strong level of professionalism
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned
  • Participate in a week-long outdoor education program at HITW (grades 3,4 and 6)
