Summary:
Rowe Elementary is looking for dedicated staff members to be a part of the 2017-2018 school year. Applicants will be selected based on alignment to our mission and vision, relevant experience, and demonstration of potential to yield excellent educational outcomes for scholars.
Credentials:
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in education. Master’s degree preferred
- Hold a current Illinois Educator License with ESL or Bilingual endorsement
- Minimum of 2-3 years teaching experience required; ESL or Bilingual teaching experience preferred
Position-Specific Qualifications:
- Experience developing, modifying, and scaffolding long-term plans, units and assessments
- Demonstrate Spanish fluency and literacy
- Be a model and demonstrate research-based bilingual/ESL strategies for collaborating teachers
- Support the development of native language and ESL skills at rigorous levels
- Build capacity and disseminate information related to the EL program to general education staff and
families - Assist in RTI with appropriate interventions for ELs
- Assist in the screening and assessment of EL scholars
- Assist in the compliance and record-keeping of EL program, as required
- Assist in the Rowe English Learner Parent Advocates (RELPA) meetings, as required
- Experience with Envision Math, Journeys, Guided Reading and NWEA preferred
- Is highly organized and can create and manage documentation systems for compliance and for the work
- Due to the nature of this role, both written and oral fluency is Spanish is highly preferred
